For being frustrated and tired of their 7 year old marriage, a middle age housewife, Hauwa Aliyu, of Sangere FUTY in Adamawa state has threatened to stab her husband to death if her marriage is not dissolved.

At Upper Area Court I in Yola on Monday, Hauwa, a mother of 1said that she is no longer interested in their union, and that if given opportunity, she will send her husband, Adamu Yusuf, a commercial motorist to his early grave.

She begged the court to put a knife into the marriage because she is tired of it, and does not want to set her eyes on her husband any more not to talk of showing him any love.

The embattled housewife told the court that her husband has turned her into a punching bag, and that he derives pleasure from beating her at any slight provocation, saying they never stayed together for a month without quarrel.

She further informed the court that her husband has been calling her a thief and has failed woefully in his responsibility of providing his family with food, clothes and shelter, saying that they have not been living together with him for the past 4 months.

Responding, Adamu who has 2 wives, denied all the allegations and pleaded with the court not to grant his wife’s wish for the dissolution of their marriage because he still loved her so much.
