Published by on September 11th, 2020.

Hi welcome to Exclusive artiste interview with NATHMEDIABLOG, Our Guest for today is nobody but a passionate Gospel rap icon talking about Mista Darsh.

in this session we will get to know allot about this minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Don’t forget to always connect with us via all our social media handles.

NOW WE GO

NMB: Hi nice hooking up with you sir.

Mista Darsh: its my pleasure

NMB: We will like to know Is mista Darsh your biological name?

Mista Darsh The mista is not, but Darsh is. It’s a short for Darsha. My full name is Heman Darsha Danladi

NMB:    What first got you into music?

Mista Darsh: Well nothing I can say in particular, but right from childhood I just love music and have passion for the artistry involved

NMB:    Who inspired you to make music?

Mista Darsh: Funny enough coming up I was so discouraged not to do music at all by almost everyone around till i meet group of guys that are passionate about music as I am, so it was easy to make that choice

NMB:    How did you discover your talent?

Mista Darsh: I started singing scriptural verses in the Bible, giving them tunes, I sang to one of my close friends back then and he said it is good. Then I said hey! maybe I can start writing my own, from there its history

NMB:    What’s your relationship status

Mista Darsh: Married to the most wonderful woman on earth and blessed with a beautiful daughter

NMB:    You are handsome and successful; tell us about the woman in your life?

Mista Darsh: Where can I start, but I will simply say, that my wife is a reward given to me by God out of his sure mercies. She is in to music as well, a great vocalist per excellence and very homely. Beautiful inside out.

NMB:    As a family man (married man) and gospel music minister how do you handle female fans & ladies approaching you ?

Mista Darsh:The fact am married scares them off (laughs). Well I try as much as I can within my power to be professional. I just flee when I perceive an ambush lol

NMB:    What has been your happiest moment?

Mista Darsh: To be chosen by God

NMB:    Whats your challenges as a gospel music minister.

Mista Darsh: Wow, it’s enormous. Majorly here in the north as at when I started was no sponsorship at least now it’s a little better, then there are no much platforms then like it is now, and the style of music I do the church has not open its arm as it is now then. But I thank God now it is better

NMB:    What is your most embarrassing moment as a gospel music minister

Mista Darsh: Well, I have none per say, but I remember going to the studio to record some years back, so when I got there I was not looking like it because I was oddly dressed (plain trouser and polo shirt). So I was looked down upon as a nobody or a new bee, but when I started recording I can see how they became dumbfounded

NMB:    How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Mista Darsh: Edivocation. My music does two things, Edify and provoke people to be better in life and Godwards

CHECK OUT:  [MUSIC]: Mista Darsh-Hanya (Prod By. Beatchef)

NMB:    What is your creative process like?

Mista Darsh: When an inspiration comes, I just take my pain and write. Mostly when praying, meditating or in my sleep. Sometimes it’s just the chorus other times a verse or complete, then I produce the song rehearse and perfect it before final recording

NMB:    Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Mista Darsh: Internationally that would be Jonathan McReynolds and Sho Baraka, back here in Nigeria it will be spokesman, Mo-man

NMB:    If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

Mista Darsh: Travis green

NMB:    What is one message you would give to your fans?

Mista Darsh: Stay true to your faith in God, and thank you for all the support given to me over the years

NMB:    Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

Mista Darsh: Yes, any kind of song as the inspiration comes

NMB:    Why do you choose rapping instead of singing?

Mista Darsh: I do both to an extent but rapping is major. I feel for me I express myself better that way

NMB:    How do you cope with rapping down here in north east knowing that it is not well accepted in most churches?

Mista Darsh: Well, the mandate of the gospel is to be preached to the world and not churches alone, I still put records out there so that many will come in to the fold of Gods family even though they did not go to church.

NMB:    What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

Mista Darsh: Basketball!!

NMB:    How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?

Mista Darsh: It has done a whole lot of good. I remember back when I and my group put down our first record in 2002, most of this social media was not out or popular our reach was only when we are present to sing or someone bought our tape or cds but now from every corner of the earth one can just stream and download and also still get paid. It’s just great

NMB:    What is your favourite song to perform?

NMB:   Should we expect any new song or project from you this soon

Mista Darsh: Yes working on something

NMB:    Which famous musicians do you admire?

Mista Darsh: Kirk franklin and Theophilus Sunday

NMB:    What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

Mista Darsh: Going out of school without pass to a concert in Mubi. Our principal was pissed but somehow let us go free

NMB:    What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Mista Darsh: Keep doing what you are doing, if its God it will last and if its just your selfish desire it will fade as a you grow. And now its almost 19 years ago

NMB:    If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Mista Darsh: Seriously, the challenges help us to be better, so I am changing nothing but I will love to see more platforms coming up to showcase the abundance of gift and talent we have

NMB:    What’s next for you?

Mista Darsh: Put out a compilation of my work, because as a solo artist I don’t have an album to my name so after the compilation and an album.

NMB:    What’s your advice to the upcoming ?

Mista Darsh: As a gospel minister, gift and talent is not enough, but how well you know the monarch and kingdom you sing about. Take out time to be familiar with the civilization of Zion and protocols. That will give you a voice and impact in your time
