Benue state Governor Ortom Cautioned Military For Killing Wanted Criminal “Gana” After Embracing Amnesty Program

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has handled the Nigerian Army for murdering Terwase Akwaza otherwise called Gana, who is supposed to be the most needed criminal in the state.

Responding to updates on the murdering of Gana, Ortom said he was held subsequent to tolerating the acquittal program set up by the administration.

He included that Gana was captured by the military while on his approach to give up and handover his weapons to the administration.

Ortom expressed that the military were conveyed along in the absolution program for volunteer armies in the state.

He stated, “We were sitting tight for the contrite civilian armies when I got a call that Gana and others have been captured near Yandev Roundabout in Gboko by troopers.

“A considerable lot of the apologetic state armies had weapons in which they were bringing to give up to us.

“The cycle of the absolution program was known to the security agents, so I don’t have the foggiest idea why they must be captured.”

The Commander, 4 Special Forces Command, Doma, Nasarawa State, Major General Moundhey Ali, told newsmen on Tuesday that Gana was killed at a barrier mounted by the military along Gbese-Gboko-Makurdi Road following trade of gunfire.

Ali said around 40 individuals from Gana’s posse were caught all the while.

The Benue State Government had in 2015 allowed reprieve to more than 500 people including Gana, who were threatening pieces of Benue and Taraba states, however a large portion of them backslid into guiltiness.

Gana was later in 2017 announced needed by the police while the Benue State Government set a N10m abundance on him.
